Famous Texas Restaurateur Hit With $1 Million Sex Harassment Lawsuit
Philip Romano, owner of Eatzi’s Grocery and Market, as well as, dozens of other restaurant chains and businesses in Texas and across the U.S. including Fuddruckers and Romano’s Macaroni Grill, has been sued for sex harassment of his female assistant general manager. According to lawsuit, Romano grabbed the assistant manager’s buttocks with a grin on his face, while the manager was at a meeting with other managers at the front counter of the store. Romano later went to the assistant manager and told her, “I thought you were just one of the guys.” The entire incident was captured on video. The manager is alleging that she has suffered emotional and psychological distress as a result of Romano’s harassment. She is currently receiving counseling and was instructed by her physician not to go to work until she healed from the stress and mental anguish she is suffering. Attorneys for the assistant manager seek one million dollars in damages for past and future pain and suffering, past and future medical bills, and mental anguish, as well as, a temporary order of protection against Romano.
