Parts Authority’s Bronx Warehouse Hit with Wage Theft Lawsuits

Workers at Parts Authority’s Bronx Warehouse have filed a series of lawsuits alleging systematic underpayment of wages and rampant wage theft.  Pechman Law Group has already recovered $60,000 for Jermaine Cranmore and $20,000 for Asiya Mohammed to settle their wage theft claims against Parts Authority, but more workers have joined the fight to recoup the wages they are owed.

The workers’ lawsuits allege that Parts Authority warehouse workers regularly worked ten-hour shifts or more up to seven days per week for subminimum wages.  During the busier seasons at the warehouse, workers frequently labored until 11:00 p.m. at night, but earned as little as $11.00 per hour in 2024, at a time when minimum wage was $16.00 per hour. Currently, minimum wage is $17 per hour. Parts Authority and its subcontractors failed to pay these workers overtime wages, even when workers clocked up to ninety-nine hours per week.  The lawsuits allege that Parts Authority used subcontractor “workforce” or “logistics” companies to supply labor to the Bronx warehouse, while Parts Authority controlled day-to-day operations over the workers.

In a case involving subcontractors DJR Logistics Corp., DRA Logistics Corp., AC Automotive, Inc., AD Delivery & Warehousing Inc., 130 St Equities LLC, three warehouse workers — Tanko Pilabre, Boris Bermudez, and Mubarik Mohammed — allege underpayment of wages while working in the warehouse for up to eighteen years.  At points, they all worked in the Internet Department as scanners, pickers, and pullers, processing auto parts for shipment and delivery.

In a case involving subcontractors Automobile Workforce LLC and General Workforce Inc., Khumar Rambharose alleges making only $12 per hour in 2022 and 2023, despite working as a Team Lead in the Internet Department, where he monitored Parts Authority’s union workers.  Those union workers were paid proper wages directly by Parts Authority, instead of the unlawful wages issued by subcontractors.

In a case against subcontractors R & J Automotive LLC and R & A Automotive LLC, eight current and former workers (Andra Chislam, Basdeo Chuli, Joshua Deowsarran, Christopher Gilyard, Bibi Khan, Mohan Manna, Shaun Moulton and Abdul Nasir Abubakar) allege underpayment of wages while working in the Internet and Hot Shot departments.

Each of these lawsuits alleges that Parts Authority and its subcontractors engaged in the following unlawful conduct:

  • Paying workers less than the minimum wage.
  • Failing to pay overtime even when workers clocked up to 99 hours a week.
  • Not providing required wage notices or pay stubs, making it harder for workers to know their rights.

If you are a current or former Parts Authority warehouse worker, you should know:

  • You have the right to minimum wage and overtime pay for all hours over 40 in a week.
    • From 2020 to 2023, minimum wage was $15 per hour.
    • In 2024, minimum wage was $16 per hour.
    • In 2025, minimum wage was $16.50 per hour.
  • You must be paid time and one half for all hours worked over forty in a work week
  • Your employer cannot take illegal deductions from your pay.
  • You must receive wage notices and accurate pay stubs.
  • You cannot be retaliated against for standing up for your rights.

Parts Authority had over $800 million in revenues in 2025 and is owned by private equity company Kohlberg & Company, LLC. Workers are standing up to ensure that Parts Authority is held accountable for the rampant wage theft at its Bronx Warehouse.

Workers can fight back — and win. If you are a Parts Authority employee and believe you are a victim of wage theft, contact Pechman Law Group to speak to an attorney at 212-583-9500. Please note that your immigration status does not matter the law protects all workers from wage theft.
