New York City Bar Association Program on Current Issues in Settlement of FLSA Cases – October 6, 2015

Louis Pechman will moderate the program Current Issues in Settlement of FLSA Cases on October 6, 2015 at 6:30 pm. FLSA cases now comprise about 10% of the federal court docket in SDNY & EDNY. This program will address issues concerning settlement of FLSA cases, including: fairness hearings, confidentiality of settlement, court review of attorneys’ fees, the Second Circuit’s decision in Cheeks v. Freeport Pancake House, and offers of judgment.

The panelists on the program are Hon. Brian M. Cogan, United States District Judge of the Eastern District of New York; Hon. Ronald L. Ellis, United States Magistrate Judge of the Southern District of New York; Hon. Lewis A. Kaplan, United States District Judge of the Southern District of New York; Justin Swartz, partner at Outten & Golden LLP; and Noel Tripp, partner at Jackson Lewis PC.
